The Kerala Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption Police has received confidential information that bribes are being taken from motorists traveling to Kerala via Coimbatore even though the document is in order.
Following this, the Kerala Anti-Corruption Police conducted a surprise raid there at 11 pm last night. At that time, the police arrested Mohanasundaram from Tamil Nadu who had received money from motorists and conducted an investigation. They then carried out an inspection at the regional transportation office.
It was revealed that Rs 2.50 lakh income to the government was lost and Rs 1.75 lakh was hidden. Mohanasundaram was arrested by the police who confiscated the money after the search was completed at around 4 am. They also issued summons to government employees working at the regional traffic check post.
