Coimbatore: State-owned land was reclaimed by the Revenue Department at Manram Estate near Kinathukadavu.
It is alleged that a private individual has occupied a state-owned land near the Manrampalayam Panchayat Council office near Kinathukadavu.
The people of Manrampalayam petitioned Kinathukadavu Tahsildar Sasirekha to reclaim the occupied land. Following this, Kinathukadavu Tashildar Sachireka issued a 7-day notice on behalf of the Revenue Department to the illegal encroacher to remove the plants and pipes on the state-owned land.
Since the person continued to occupy the state-owned land in spite of the notice, the Revenue Department officials led by Kinathukadavu Tahsildar Sasirekha went to Manrampalayam on Tuesday and in the presence of locals, cleared a cent of privately-occupied land with a bulldozer and reclaimed the Government land. People in the area were reportedly happy at the action initiated by the Revenue Department officials against the encroacher.
