Coimbatore: Police have arrested two men for selling lottery tickets in Valparai.
The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, S Selvanagarathinam received confidential information that the sale of lottery tickets by the neighboring state is rampant in Valparai, Coimbatore. On his orders, the Special Forces led by the Special Police Assistant Inspector Murali comprising of Chief Constable Suresh and the Special Forces split into two factions and secretly traced the sale of lotteries.
The officials entered the area where there was alleged sale of lotteries, as customers. They witnessed the sale of number three andfour lotteries being sold online. Anand and Selvam who were involved in the lottery sales were arrested and Rs. 5920 was seized from them and handed over to the Valparai police station. The Valparai Police Inspector, Maheshwari has registered a case against the two men and taken further action. The incident caused a stir among the public.
