Dr. A PJ Abdul Kalam Charitable Trust Chairman, Ranganathan said, "We launched the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Charitable Foundation with the aim of serving the poor and needy from March 24, 2020, when the first wave of Coronavirus began to spread. We provided relief items to thousands of poor people during the first wave of the pandemic.
Our Foundation, on behalf of Srinithi E Routes and Travels and Metropolis had also expanded our catering program to cater to the second wave of the pandemic outbreak. We went to Covid patients' homes thrice a day to provide them with the nutritious food they needed for 10 days. Above all, we provide financial assistance for funerals in case someone in a poor family dies. We continue to operate this service so that poor people in need of financial assistance for funerals can avail our help through contacting us on 9597974842," he added.

"On the eve of Abdul Kalam's Memorial Day, we paid homage to his portrait in the evening in Avarampalayam.

Our Foundation currently has 50 members. Those who wish to serve can contact our Foundation and join us. Dr. Abdul Kalam was a pioneer in the development of the country and the youth.

So we will continue to provide various assistance to people in the future on behalf of this Foundation which we have set up in his name," reiterated Chairman Ranganathan.

Foundation Secretary Munuswamy, Treasurer Nirmal and many others were present on the occasion.
