527 Kms run today to pay tribute to 527 Martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas Day
Coimbatore: 50 cadets and 3 Officers run a cumulative total of 527 kms to pay tribute to 527 martyrs of Kargil and mark the Kargil Vijay Day. They ran in their respective places and shared their course maps online. Some ran in the evening as it was raining heavily in certain places of India. After the run, they presented this to Major Saravanan and Major DP Singh
51 cadets undergoing training for becoming officers in Armed Forces paid tribute to 527 Kargil Martyrs by running a total of 527 kms from their respective places in various parts of India including Delhi. This exercise was led by Army Officer Trainee Divya M selected to join Officers Training Academy, a 1st generation officer from Neyveli and daughter of an Ambulance driver.
She also secured All India Rank 2 for Officers Training Academy. Also led by Venkatakrishnan who was recently selected to join Indian Military Academy and Pranav who was selected as a Fighter Pilot for Indian Air Force. Pranav is also a 1st generation Officer and son of Teachers from Tirupur.
The tribute was presented to Major DP Singh a Kargil wounded Veteran and 1st Blade Runner of India & sister of Major Saravanan Veer Chakra who was the 1st to Martyr in Kargil by Virtual meet. Some of the cadets completed 22 km as their share to mark 22 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The Training Commander,Esan who is the Chief Mentor said that 'this was the bare minimum we can do to Martyrs and their families who have given us a Supreme Sacrifice and will be continued every year.'
