Coimbatore DMK leader Racecourse Raghunath files complaint with the Anti-Corruption Department against former Minister S P Velumani
Coimbatore: Coimbatore DMK leader Racecourse Raghunath has lodged a complaint against the former Minister S P Velumani with the Anti-Corruption Department.
"I have been in the business of being a filmmaker and director. In Coimbatore city and suburban districts, during the last AIADMK regime, various irregularities, bribery and embezzlement took place and millions of crores of public tax money and crores of rupees were laundered by the former Minister S P Velumani and a few MLAs. Some examples are the Rs. 225 crore that had been allocated for the Rs.1500 crore Avinashi-Athikkadavu Project in Coimbatore where work had begun.
The Pillur 3rd Phase Project worth Rs.116 crores had been allotted and work is under progress. The Rs. 230 crore worth Noyyal River recovery project, 24X7 drinking water project for Coimbatore, Rs. 550 crore for Kuniyamuthur underground sewerage project as well as the construction of the Suez Water Board project."
"There has also been corruption in the setting up of the Vellalore bus stand, road works in Thondamuthur road, sewerage in the Thondamuthur area and all the work done by the Corporation during the last regime in the city of Coimbatore were routinely getting 12 percent commission. I humbly and respectfully request the Anti-Corruption Department to take legal action against the former Minister S P Velumani and those who robbed the public of their tax money under the Anti-Corruption Act," complained Racecourse Raghunath.
