250 saplings planted at Coimbatore Central Jail premises on behalf of 'Merku Thodarchi kanagam', 'Coco Mans' and 'Rotary Club-Coimbatore'
Coimbatore: A sapling planting program was held today at the Coimbatore Central Jail premises on behalf of the 'Merku Thodarchi Kanagam', 'Coco Mans' and 'Rotary Club-Coimbatore'.
CRPF Assistant Commissioners Venkatesh G, John and Ambika Rajan, and jawans planted 250 saplings at the Coimbatore Central Jail premises. The Central Government Board Member, S K Gowtham said, 'July 27 is the day of remembrance of our late former President and Bharat Ratna recipient APJ Abdul Kalam who was an inspiration to students. We request everyone to plant and maintain two saplings as a way of remembering him with gratitude. Those who want to plant saplings can get saplings from us for free. Shiva Muruganantham of 'Merku Thodarchi Kanagam' can be contacted on mobile number 94431 36451. Everyone should plant two saplings at home and help in the development of a 'Green Bharat,'' he added.
