Police warns to seal shops that sell Gutka and tobacco products in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Police have warned traders that their shop will be sealed and shop owners will be arrested if they sell gutka and tobacco. On behalf of the Coimbatore Gandhipuram Police Station, all the traders around Coimbatore were summoned and warned that if they were found selling banned gutka and tobacco products in the shops, they would be arrested and the shop would be sealed.

At the Ashoka Prema Kalyana Mandapam in the Ram Nagar area of Coimbatore, the Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police and the Deputy Commissioner summoned retailers and wholesalers from the Gandhipuram area and banned the sale of Gutka throughout. Deenadayalan, Branch President, Sivananda Colony, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Satish Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Law and Order, and Latha, Assistant Inspector, C1 Kattoor Police, were also present.
Gandhipuram area traders were also informed about the harm caused to the public by the sale of Gutka and the action to be taken by the police in case of sale of banned Gutka by the concerned department.
