Consultative meeting on 'Demand Aggregation of COVID Vaccines and Utilization of CSR funds' held in Chennai

A Consultative meeting conducted by Minister for Medical and Family Welfare with Private Hospitals including CMCHIS Empanelled Hospitals and major industries on "Demand Aggregation of COVID Vaccines and Utilization of CSR funds" for the 259% allocation reserved for the Private Hospitals in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpet, Ranipet, Vellore and Tirupattur Districts on 23-07-21 at 10.00 am @ Auditorium, Anna Centenary Library Campus, Kotturpuram, Chennai.


Coimbatore: A Consultative meeting conducted by Minister for Medical and Family Welfare with Private Hospitals including CMCHIS Empanelled Hospitals and major industries on 'Demand Aggregation of COVID Vaccines and Utilization of CSR funds' for the 259% allocation reserved for the Private Hospitals in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpet, Ranipet, Vellore and Tirupattur Districts on 23-07-21 at 10.00 am @ Auditorium, Anna Centenary Library Campus, Kotturpuram, Chennai.

The Government of India have issued 'Revised COVID Vaccination Policy' from 21-06-2021 in which vaccine manufactures has to supply 75% of their production to Government of India and Gol will supply the vaccines to the States at free of cost and the balance 25% has been reserved to be allocated for the Private Hospitals based on aggregated demand of such hospitals.

Around 250 participants from various private hospitals and major industries from Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpet, Ranipet, Vellore and Tirupattur

Districtshave attended the meeting. About 32 major industries and Private hospitals have provided their commitment to contribute Rs.2.21 crores for procurement of Covid vaccines and initially cheques for Rs.1.025 crores have been received as CSR funds. In this regard, a draft guidelines for utilisation of CSR funds for procurement of vaccines under 25% allocation to private hospitals is submitted as follows:

Step 1

Any major industries, hospitals and NGOs shall provide/donate the CSR funds for procuring vaccines under 25% reserved for private hospitals in the State as per revised vaccine policy of Government of India

Step 2

The collected CSR funds would be compiled by PD, TNHSRP for Chennai region and JDHS/DDHS in other districts and submitted to theDistrict Collectors in respect of other districts with all details noted.

Step 3

The collected CSR funds in respect of Chennai region would be sent to the Commissioner/Principal Secretary,GCC by PD, TNHSRP for further process.

Step 4

The District Collector shall convene a meeting with District Health Officials (DDHS, JDHS, Deans etc.) and representatives of concerned industries who donated CSR funds which will be convened by the JDHS of the district to finalise PCVC for which fund has to be distributed to the private hospitals for purchase of Covid vaccines under 25% reserved for Private hospitals by Gol in CoWIN portal. This arrangement is being done considering the fact that the CoWIN portal only

allows PCVC to procure the vaccines.

Step 5

Preference shall be given for the industries who donated the CSR funds to the private hospitals to be tied up for providing free COVID vaccination.

Step 6

The industries shall adopt Tribal and Hilly areas/Slum areas/ Fishermen area /urban slum areas for vaccination or any other priority areas/groups.

Step 7

The DDHS/JDHS along with PCVC and Industries will prepare a plan to identify the areas based on the vaccination status.

Step 8

DC (Health) Greater Chennai Corporation and the DDHS should coordinate with PCVCs for registration of new PCVCs and vaccine receipt and distribution to PCVC through the Co-WIN portal.
