Coimbatore: Two men were tragically killed in two separate road accidents in Coimbatore.
According to police reports, Velmurugan (49) of Kamatchi Puram near Sulur in Coimbatore district runs a panzer shop near Sulur. He was on his two-wheeler and turned left from the signal opposite the Singanallur police station. A Government bus en route to Sivakasi collided into the rear of his two-wheeler and the tire of the bus reportedly exploded.
Velmurugan got stuck in one of the bus wheels and was dragged away, resulting in him being crushed to death. The Singanallur police have registered a case and are investigating.The public in the area blamed the accident on the sudden removal of a security divider placed in the area.
In another incident, Sundaram (62) of Raja Nagar near Ganapathy in Coimbatore runs a grinder company in the area. On Thursday, Sundaram fell down from his two-wheeler while riding in the Attipalayam section area. He suffered grievous injuries and though passers-by rushed him to a private hospital, doctors who examined him at the hospital delcared that he was brought dead. The Saravanampatti police have registered a case and are investigating.
