15 thousand cubic feet of water per second to Pillur Dam
The Pillur Dam is on the verge of reaching 100 feet at full capacity due to continuous rains in the Pillur catchment area for the last few days. As of this morning, the water level in the Bhavani River is 14 thousand cubic feet per second and the water level in the Pillur Dam is 15 thousand cubic feet per second. 14 thousand cubic feet of water per second from the Pillur Dam has been released into the Bhavani River. Thus, a flood alert has been issued on behalf of the district administration to the people living in the Bhavani coastal area.
Disaster relief team rushed to Coimbatore
As many as 45 disaster relief personnel from the Arakkonam National Disaster Response Force Management Center have arrived in Coimbatore as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incidents as the district administration has issued a flood alert to the people living along the Bhavani River.
