Coimbatore: There are 13 tribal settlements in the dense forest area of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve in Valparai, Coimbatore district and 2000 tribal people live there.
Coimbatore: There are 13 tribal settlements in the dense forest area of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve in Valparai, Coimbatore district and 2000 tribal people live there.
They avoided vaccination due to lack of awareness and on the instructions of the district administration, Deputy Field Director Arokiyaraj Xavier of Anaimalai Tiger Reserve advised the health department to work with the forest department to raise awareness among the tribal people. Following this, the Forest Department and the Department of Health jointly conducted the Coronavirus Vaccination Special Camp in 13 settlements.

Of these, 110 people over the age of 18 living in the Nedungundram settlement were vaccinated. Dr. Babu Lakshmanan, chief medical officer of the regional resource center, said that 110 people living in the settlement had been vaccinated 100%.

Certificates of first phase vaccination were also issued to the tribal people.
