Light showers are expected in the northern coastal districts and dry weather in other districts. Heavy rains are expected in the Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts starting evening 22nd.
Puviarasan, director of the Chennai Meteorological Center said, "There may be light rain in a few parts of the city and on the 23rd, a low pressure area is likely to form in the north-western Bay of Bengal. During the last 24 hours maximum rainfall of 4 cm was recorded in Puzhal, Ambattur, Perambur and 3 cm in Valparai and in Chennai, Nungambakkam, Devala 2 cm of rainfall was recorded.”
