A 15-year-old girl from Coimbatore's Karamadai Chikkarampalayam is studying in class 10 at a government school in the same area. Her relative Vikram is a 20-year-old construction worker from the same area. Vikram became acquainted and pretended to be in love with her. The student came out of the house last night and Vikram, who was there at the time, forcibly took the student and raped her.
The shocked student escaped from Vikram and ran home. Her mother, who was at home, saw the student crying and inquired. Then the student narrated the incident and her mother was shocked and lodged a complaint with the Karamadai police. Following this, the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested Vikram and are conducting an investigation.
