Coimbatore: Coimbatore Diocesan CSI Executive Committee meeting was held at Bishop Appasamy College, Coimbatore. Police are investigating as there were clashes following heated arguments at the meeting.
The CSI Diocesan Executive Committee meeting, which included eight districts, including Coimbatore, was held at the church at Bishop Appasamy College on that road. Nesa Marilyn, a member of the executive committee and a lawyer who took part in it, seems to have taken the evidence with evidence of past frauds. Opposition parties, including Charles Samrat, Wilson Kumar and Bhagyaraj, were outraged.

As the argument turned into physical attack. Charles Samraj took a nearby iron bar and struck Nessa Marilyn in the head. Nesa Marilyn was admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital with serious injuries and is receiving treatment.

The Race Course police are investigating the incident. Nesa Marilyn said, "A case has already been filed in connection with corruption scandals and the Coimbatore Court on October 4, 2019 banned the holding of the SI constituency election and meeting. The meeting was organized today in violation of the ban and during the meeting a dispute arose over the recording of corruption allegations against Charles Samraj. Enraged by the evidence, Charles Samraj reportedly pulled out a knife and attacked Nesa Marilyn in the presence of the Archbishop Timothy in defiance of the police who were on security duty at the premises.
