The NIlgiris: Farmer who was buying groceries in the Mudumalai forest was attacked by a tiger.
Tribal people live in some villages within the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in the Nilgiris District. The forest department is taking steps to provide them with alternative locations.
This afternoon, Kunchukrishnan (49), a farmer from Mudukuzhi village in the Mudumalai forest area, went through the forest area to buy groceries. A tiger lurking in the bushes grabbed him by the neck. In it, Krishna suffocated and died at the same place. The people in the area informed the forest department.
The forest department, including Sarkar Dayanandan and Dr Rajesh Kumar, inspected the site and recovered the body and sent it to Cuddalore Government Hospital for autopsy.
Later, a portion of the relief fund on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government was donated to the relatives of the deceased Kunchukrishnan. They say, 'Based on the information given by the people of the area that one person was killed by the tiger. We investigated and the deceased has been identified as Kunchukrishnan, son of Veeranchetti of Mudukuzhi village. Tiger footprints were found near the body. He came in the path of the tiger unexpectedly, the tiger attacked him. '
The people of the area say, "The tiger that killed the farmer may not be a man-eater. A tiger has been roaming the area for the past few days due to ill health or old age. Unfortunately the tiger attacked the farmer."
