Coimabtore district's Revenue Department reclaimed 10 acres of state-owned land from Sholayar Estate owner
Coimbatore: Sholayar Estate which is located near Valparai in Coimbatore district is owned by Jayasree. It has come to light that Jayasree has been occupying 10 acres of revenue-owned land for about 50 years and cultivating tea on it. Further, the departmental officials came to know through field inspection that no tax has been paid to the Government for the land thus far.
Following this, on the orders of Coimbatore District Collector Sameeran, the Valparai District Tahsildhar Raja, Amirtaraj and Revenue officials led by the Valparai Tahsildhar Raja took over the occupied area of 10 acres in Sholayar Estate and put up a notice board stating that the 10 acres of land owned by the Revenue Department had been reclaimed and is now owned by the Revenue Department.
