In Coimbatore district, there are currently less than 250 Covid-19 cases. Various precautionary measures are being taken by the District administration and the Health Department to prevent the third wave of Covid-19. At the same time, health experts believe that the third wave could affect children the most. A special ward with 350 beds has been set up at the Coimbatore Government Hospital toward combating this. Apart from this, training on child care is also being provided to doctors and nurses.
Dr. Nirmala also said, “Coronavirus infection is most likely to be transmitted from parents to children. Therefore, parents should be vaccinated first. It is best to avoid taking children outdoors too much. Eat a diet rich in protein. If children have symptoms such as colds and flu, they should be taken to the hospital immediately. Thus far, no one has been admitted in the Covid-19 Children's Ward," she added.
