Coimbatore: CAJ Welfare Association have demanded that the Hindu Munnani cadres who have been inciting riots among people of all faiths living peacefully in Coimbatore ought to be arrested.
this demand comes in the wake of the Hindu Munnani announcing that a protest will be held in front of the Jamesha Dargah, located on the main shopping street owned by the Attar Jamaat Mosque in Coimbatore.
The CAJ Welfare Association urged the police to immediately stop this protest. The mosque is located on the main shopping street owned by the 300-year old Attar Jamaat Mosque in Coimbatore. They said that the road leading to the main shopping mall belongs to the Attar Jamaat Mosque and said that the Attar Jamaat Mosque had given it to the Government in the past for public use.
The Association alleged that the Hindu Munnani members were now protesting without knowing the history of the area. Hence, they requested the Coimbatore City Police and the Government of Tamil Nadu to arrest the Hindu Munnani cadres immediately for inciting religious discord in the city.
