Women police constables appointed to receive complaints in 20 police stations across Coimbatore and to immediately inform the Control Room.
Coimbatore: Women police constables were appointed on Thursday to receive complaints at 20 police stations in Coimbatore and to immediately inform the control room. Female police constables have been recruited in 15 Law and Order police stations, 3 women police stations and 2 traffic police stations in Coimbatore city from Thursday on a rotational basis. Female guards are on duty from 7 am to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 9 pm. They have been specifically instructed to be cordial with the public who enter the police station to lodge a complaint and to diligently receive complaints. For this purpose, 18 laptops have been provided and complaints received at the police stations are sent to the City Police Control Room, every day.
Training has been provided to 40 female police officials assigned to the reception area to enable them to be cordial to the public. They have been appointed by the Coimbatore City Police on the orders of Commissioner Deepak Damore.
