Class 8 student playing in front of his house near Podanur gets electrocuted and dies tragically in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Even as heavy rains lashed Podanur on Wednesday, a Class 8 student playing in front of his house accidentally touched a power line while playing. The boy was electrocuted and died on the spot.
Senthilkumar's son, Sreesanth (12) from MGR Nagar near Coimbatore was an eighth grader at a local school. While playing with the boys near his home on Wednesday night, Sreesanth accidentally grabbed the electric pole in front of his house. Since it was drizzling, Sreesanth who was playing with the electric pole was struck by lightning in the blink of an eye.
Neighbours immediately rushed Sreesanth to a hospital but doctors who examined him declared him brought dead. The Podanur police have registered a case and are investigating.
