At the Chief Post Office in Coimbatore, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam sent empty syringes to the Central Government urging it to allocate more vaccines to Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to reporters, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam general secretary K. Ramakrishnan warned that the third wave would come following the second wave of the Coronavirus. He said the Modi government was cheating Tamil Nadu by not providing enough vaccines. More vaccines are being allocated to smaller states than Tamil Nadu.
He also said that they are refusing permission to open a vaccination plant in Chengalpattu to produce vaccines in Tamil Nadu. He said thousands of people had been waiting for the vaccine since midnight on vaccination days. Awareness of vaccination in India is highest in Tamil Nadu. He further said that the Modi government should set aside adequate vaccinations without showing partisan to Tamil Nadu.
