Nehru Group of Institution in association with Kovai Pedallers and Rotary Club of Kovaipudur Jointly organized a Cycle Rally of 50 Kms upto Siruvani, Coimbatore

Dr. P. Krishna Kumar, CEO & Secretary of NGI and President of Kovai Pedallers said "Cycle was one thing that was in use in our day-to-day life until a few years back. People of villages and towns were using it as a major mode of transportation. Apart from its zero cost, it is a great exercise too. People of all ages can get benefitted. After the invasion of automobiles like bikes and cars, cycles lost their grace and power even in villages. Now the attention on cycles has revived in the younger generation. life has become miserable with lack of exercise and bad food habits.

To encourage cycling in India, many organisations introduce schemes like Smart Bikes. Cycling is a better exercise than Walking to reduce weight. Every part of the body coordinates towards good health and mind through cycling. While cycling heart beat is regularised, heart weakness and blocks were avoided. The sugar level is controlled for both type I & II diabetic patients. The brain is active when we go cycling regularly for half an hour. Every muscle of the body and spine get strengthened.



The benefits of cycling were enormous. Regular cyclers can avoid blood pressure, and the brain is activated well. It is a permanent solution for those mentally disturbed people. Due to the rigorous sweating the cholesterol level is controlled. Fat is the root cause of many cancers like breast cancer, uterus cancer, mouth ulcer and so on. Regular cycling reduces body weight and reduces the chances of these ailments. Research conducted by University of Glasgow proves that regular cycling reduces cancer chances by 45%.

The rally organized by the Nehru Group of Institution in association with Kovai Pedallers and Rotary Club of Kovaipudur attracted more than 100 men and children. The rally started today around 6.30 am from Kovaipudur A Ground and enrooted through Sundakkamuthur, Perur, Pachapalayam, Thondamuthur, Alaandhurai, Nallurvayal, Ikkarai Pozhuvampatti and reached Siruvani. The return journey also took the same route and reached Kovaipudur. To be proud, no charges were collected from the participants. The registrations were made up to 6.00 pm on the previous day (09.07.2021). Free T-shirts and Certificates were given to all registered participants. All participants were ensured to wear masks and helmets throughout the rally. Those who have completed it were served with breakfast and tea. Some refreshments were also participated.

Colonel C Chandrasekhar, Regiment of Artillery NCC, Coimbatore and Rotary Dist. 3201 Governor Rtn. Rajasekaran, proudly inaugurated the rally in the morning. District Director Rtn. MPHF Kumaresan P, Assistant Governors Rtn. MPHF Bhaskaran A and Rtn. MPHF Raamanathan participated as a special guest. Mr. Vignesh Ramkumar, Secretary of Kovai Pedallers and members of Pedallers coordinated the event
