Corporation Commissioner personally inspected sanitation and development works in the south zone of Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara personally inspected sanitation and development works in the south zone of Coimbatore. He instructed officers to expedite the development work and then met with the sanitary staff in the office premises of the Coimbatore Corporation South Zone in Ward No.85.
The Corporation Commissioner urged the Health Inspector and the sanitary staff to be on time for their jobs and perform their duties efficiently. He advised the staff to who collect garbage door-to-door to segregate compostable garbage and non-compostable garbage. He also insisted that rainwater drainage ought to have obstructing debris in the canal cleared consistently. 'Do your job well to ensure we have a clean Corporation and also get your vaccinations,' urged the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner.

After inspecting the construction work of the bridge at Sundakkamuthur Road, Chettumavaikkal, Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected the overhead tank at Ward No. 89, Balaji Nagar which has a capacity of 15 lakh litres. Later, he inspected the completed overhead tank that has a capacity of 2.50 lakh liters in Ward No. 89, Anbu Nagar area.
Thereafter, the Corporation Commissioner conducted a study on the activities of the Athupalam power plant in Ward No.86. Later, he inspected the construction work of a new bus stand at Vellalore which was being done at an estimated cost of Rs.168 crores. He then visited the 3.85 km Periyakulam beautification work being carried out at Ukkadam Periyakulam, Phase-1 area under the Smart City project. He ordered the concerned officers to complete the work on time.

During the inspection, South Zone Assistant Commissioner Saravanan, Chief Engineer Smart City Saravanakumar, Chief Engineer (South) Sundarraj, Assistant Engineer Kanagaraj, Zonal Health Officer Loganathan and other Corporation officials were present.
