Corporation officials who inspected the land had already informed the public in the area to relocate.
Corporation officials thereafter had to resort to demolishing the buildings and recover the land since the public refused to clear the encroachments by themselves. This was done amidst tight security backed by all available police forces, special services and the army. A large number of policemen have also been deployed to prevent any unrest in the area.
