The drinking water pipes in this area are damaged which caused drinking water to overflow onto the roads. The Corporation administration has reportedly not fixed the pipes even after 15 days of having received the complaint from residents. Due to persistent complaints from the residents, Corporation officials dug a hole in the center of the road and repaired the connection to the drinking water pipes but left the pit open with stones around it.
Thereafter, the Corporation officials reportedly covered the pit with soil but there still are large pits in the center of the road where the drinking water pipe was repaired. With over a 1000 motorists using the road every day, poor street lighting in the area during evenings hours has caused many motorists to fall into the pit, leaving them injured. The public have demanded that the Corporation administration immediately intervene in this matter and close the pit to avoid any more casualties among the public in the Ganapathy area.
