The inaugural event of the exclusive training was held at the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital's Pediatrics Department in view of the fact that the Covid-19 third wave was likely to affect children.
Covid-19 Third Wave Prevention Procedure Training was imparted to the doctors and nurses in the Pediatrics Department at CMCH on July 13 under the chairmanship of Prof. A Nirmala.
Previously, the medical staff were trained through Video Conference and Virtual Learning. Training was provided on the easy detection and treatment of Covid-19 infections and Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS-C) which occurs exclusively in children as a result of Covid-19 infections. Triage, resuscitation, fluid management, oxygen delivery devices and counselling training is to be provided in groups for four weeks from July 14. The training was conducted by Dr. Booma, Head of the Children's Welfare Department and Professors Gitanjali, Dr. Lakshmanasamy, Dr. Sasikumar and other Assistant Professors.
