Residents of the area detained a vehicle and took part in a protest in Dharna as Kabasura water was taken to a municipality in a garbage truck. When the people of the area contacted the Municipal Officer about this, he said that since it was a slum area, he had sent Kabasura Kudineer in a garbage truck in an emergency in negligence.
The people of Vijayapuram today lodged a complaint with Pollachi Sub-Collector Thackeray Subham Gnana Dev Rao seeking action against the concerned Municipality Officer.
It is disappointing that a Municipality Officer acted in partisan with a casteist view since it was a slum area, it had to be sent in a garbage truck. The public has therefore been asked to take immediate action against the officials involved.
