The VHP strongly condemned the Corporation administration's demolition of the 100-year old Sri Angalamman temple in Kumaraswamy Colony, with the help of the police and reportedly against the public's semntiments.
The demolition of the temple on Tuesday morning has caused a great stir among devotees. More than 100 people have been arrested, including women who protested against the demolition of the temple. Condemning the allegedly anti-Hindu attitude of the Coimbatore Corporation administration and the Government of Tamil Nadu's partisan views while targeting Hindu temples, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has decided to hold a protest at 5 pm on Wednesday, July 14 near the Coimbatore Gandhi Park Roundabout. The protesters will be wearing face masks and adhering to social distancing.
