RT-PCR negative result is required for e-pass from Kerala - Coimbatore District Collector

District Collector Sameeran has said that all those who come to Coimbatore from Kerala will be allowed to enter Coimbatore only if they have proof of negative result of RT-PCR coronavirus test. So many vehicles were sent back to Kerala today. Vehicles coming from Kerala to Coimbatore without e-pass were sent back.


Coimbatore: District Collector Sameeran has said that all those who come to Coimbatore from Kerala will be allowed to enter Coimbatore only if they have proof of negative result of RT-PCR coronavirus test. So many vehicles were sent back to Kerala today. Vehicles coming from Kerala to Coimbatore without e-pass were sent back.

As e-pass is mandatory for vehicles coming to Coimbatore district from Kerala state, intensive checks will be carried out at all check posts. District Collector Sameeran has ordered that they will be allowed into the Coimbatore district only if there is annegative RT-PCR report that there is no CORONAVIRUS INFECTION.

The District Collector has ordered that e-pass be made mandatory for vehicles coming from the state of Kerala due to the increasing spread of corona. Following this, all the 13 check posts along the Kerala border in Coimbatore district have been ordered to be actively monitored.

A team comprising the police, the revenue department and the health department has been set up and ordered to conduct an intensive search. Intensive checks are being carried out at two check posts at Walayar, Velandavalam, Pollachi, Coimbatore and at major check posts at Valparai, Anaikatti and Anaimalai.

You can go to Kerala from Coimbatore district, but when you arrive, you will need a corona test report and an e-pass. The existing practice will be followed in the issue of daily commuters coming to the border. Measures have also been taken to monitor passengers disembarking from trains coming from Kerala at Podanur and Coimbatore railway stations. Bus traffic is prohibited.
