Coimbatore: Marxist party members staged a protest in Coimbatore demanding justice for the death of Father Stan Swamy, who died as a result of the fascist activities of the Union Government.

Coimbatore MP PR Natarajan led the protest in front of the Sivananda Colony Tatabad Powerhouse in Coimbatore. CPM state committee member C. Padmanabhan condemned the 'fascist killing by the United Government'. The party's district secretary V. Ramamurthy, state committee member A. Radhika and a large number of district executive and district committee members participated.

Earlier in the day, PR Natarajan had said, “When the Union Government introduced the UPA Amendment Act in 2019, it was strongly opposed by the Left parties in Parliament. The amendment allows central forces, including the NIA, to arrest anyone without seeking the permission of state governments. The culmination of the atrocity is that such an arrestee will not get bail. It is for this reason that Father Stan Swami died without receiving timely medical treatment for the same reason.

The BJP government continues to try to suppress those who oppose the Union government. So far 16 intellectuals have been jailed for three years in the Bhima Goregaon case. All sections of the people and organizations condemning this fascist act of the United Government and seeking justice for Stan Swami's death must mobilize and launch a strong struggle. The Marxist Party will carry out such work. ”
