Coimbatore: Coimbatore Kinathukkadavu mark- Kuniyamuthur joint drinking water project pipe was broken again and the road was flooded everywhere.
Coimbatore: Lakhs liters of water flowed into the road due to the breakage of Coimbatore-Kinathukadavu-Kuniyamuthur joint drinking water project pipeline
Water is piped from the Ambarambalayam river near Pollachi in Coimbatore district to Kinathukadavu, Kurichi and Kuniyamuthur areas.
4 lakh liters of water is distributed to Kinathukadavu municipality and 1 crore liters to Kurichi-Kuniamuthur areas 24 hours a day.
In this situation, there was a break in the pipe of the joint drinking water project near the government high school this morning. This caused water to leak out of the broken pipes, causing cracks and damage across the roads.
Also, about one lakh liters of water was wasted due to the rupture and flowed on to the road. Later, the Drinking Water Drainage Board officials were informed about the breakage of the drinking water pipe.

Following this, the water was stopped and then the Drinking Water Drainage Board staff were engaged in repairing the broken pipe.

Traffic has been diverted through the area as the pipeline is being repaired.

According to the Drinking Water Drainage Board, frequent breakdowns in the Kinathukkadavu area have caused the motors to stop at the Kinathukkadavu drinking water pumping station.
