BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan in Pollachi stated that Chief Minister M K Stalin should ensure that the ruling party does not interfere in the Covid-19 vaccination camps held in Tamil Nadu
Coimbatore: At the BJP District Executive Committee meeting held in Pollachi on Wednesday, the BJP All India Women's Wing leader and MLA Vanathi Srinivasan interacted with the reporters.
"The ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu should create a separate district with Pollachi as its headquarters. At present, in the face of declining copra prices, co-operatives in neighboring states like Kerala are protecting coconut farmers in Kerala by paying them extra. Similarly, the Tamil Nadu Government should pay extra to coconut farmers in Tamil Nadu with the minimum support price of the Central Government," opined Vanathi Srinivasan.
She further added, "As said on July 11, 2016, M K Stalin should have used coconut oil instead of palm oil in midday meal programs and ration shops. Also in Tamil Nadu, even though people have been waiting everyday, since early morning hours for vaccination against Covid-19, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) executives have been seizing tokens and exchanging them for money in some places.
Chief Minister M K Stalin must take up this issue and ensure that the vaccines provided by the Central Government which is provided free of cost should be made available to people without any interference from any political party. If we want to alleviate the suffering of the people of Tamil Nadu due to the increase in petrol and diesel prices, we have to reduce the tax in Tamil Nadu as well as in states like Orissa."
Vanathi Sinivasan also told reporters that the promises made in the recently concluded elections must be fulfilled. "The expansion of the Union Cabinet would be a decision taken by the Prime Minister as a whole, and I would be very happy if people from Tamil Nadu are in," she added.
