Coimbatore: A Special Police team has been formed to arrest two men who fled after killing a contractor due to salary dispute, near Sulur.
Coimbatore: A Special Police team has been formed to arrest two men who fled after killing a contractor due to salary dispute, near Sulur.
Ravi Prasad (42) of Uppilipalayam had been staying in a house in Kadambadi Maniyakarar Thottam near Sulur, Coimbatore for the past two years. He worked as a painting contractor in the area and employed two men for the last 8 days and also rented a house on PalaniAndavar Kovil Road.
Ravi Prasad and his employees were inebriated when a brawl broke out between them over the payment of wages. Ravi Prasad was hit on the head with a stone placed under a pillar, following which he died on the spot. The two men reportedly fled the scene but migrant workers in the neighbourhood who heard the scuffle rushed to the spot.
They were shocked to see Ravi Prasad lying dead in a pool of blood and immediately informed the Sulur police. The police led by Inspector Murugesan immediately rushed to the spot, recovered the body and are investigating. They have launched a man hunt for the accused.
