4 men arrested for poaching wild boars at Marudhamalai foothills
Coimbatore: Four men were arrested by the Forest Department for poaching wild boars at the foothills of Marudhamalai. The four who tried to escape from the spot were nabbed by locals in the area and handed over to the Forest department.
The poachers have been identified as Rajkumar (43) of Mullai Nagar in Vadavalli, Sasikumar (47) of Chinna Thadagam, Sampathkumar (39) of Pannimadai and Devaraj (55) of Namakkal district, Tiruchengode. The Forest Department confiscated the local firearms and car used for poaching. The four men were booked and remanded in custody on the orders of District Forest Officer Venkatesh.
