Coimbatore: Former Bharathiar university registrar K. Murugan who was inducted as a member of BJP inside the premises of university, says nobody forced him to join the party and that it happened unknowingly.
The registrar, head of the zoology department, retired from his post on June 30th. A day later he was seen snapped sharing the membership card along with the party’s youth wing secretary Dr. Preethi Lakshmi and media spokesperson head Sabari Girish. The photo that was uploaded by Dr. Preethi Lakshmi irked the management as it was taken inside the premises, where he said to have been inducted as a member. Left immediately after being inducted as the member of BJP, the former registrar of the varsity said it happened without his knowledge.
“It happened without my knowledge and was not pre planned. I had no desire to join any party”, he said while speaking with Simplicity. Asked if he would have continued to be as the party member, had he not been landed in controversies, he said nobody forced him to leave the party and that move to leave was made solely on his own decision. “Nobody forced me to leave the party after I was inducted accidentally as its member” he said. He, however, refused to answer the other questions.
