Deputy Tahsildhar arrested for demanding Rs. 10,000 bribe for patta transfer


Tirupur: Tirupur Anti-Corruption Police have arrested a deputy Tahsildhar near Coimbatore for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for Patta transfer.

Rajamani is a 52-year-old farmer from Kethanur near Palladam in Tirupur district. He approached the Palladam taluk office for patta transfer and was demanded a bribe of Rs. 10,000. Rajamani lodged a complaint with the Tirupur Anti-Corruption Police.

Following this, the police led by DSP Datchinamurthy handed over currency laced with chemicals yesterday.



Anti-corruption police, who were already waiting at the taluk office, caught Rajamani red-handed while he received the bribe money. He has been arrested and is being questioned. The incident caused a stir in the taluk office.
