Train educated youth and develop them into entrepreneurs: CM MK Stalin orders authorities in consultative meeting
Coimbatore: Chief Minister MK Stalin advised the officials at the review meeting on the activities of the micro, small and medium enterprises sector that the self-employment schemes being implemented to develop educated youth as entrepreneurs should be executed quickly.
The Chief Minister also discussed various projects to be implemented for the benefit and development of micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which are next to the agricultural sector, in creating entrepreneurs with low investment and increasing employment, which will greatly help in the economic and social development of the country. The review meeting was held today at the General Secretariat under the chairmanship of CM MK Stalin.
During the meeting, Chief Minister MK Stalin inquired about the details of the immediate release of 60 per cent of the budget investment budget allocation of Rs 168 crore, 1975 businesses, to help small, medium and micro enterprises affected by the Coronavirus. He also discussed the biggest challenge facing small, micro and medium enterprises is the need to take action to get system-based credit. He advised the authorities to give priority to the self-employment schemes implemented to develop educated youth as entrepreneurs and achieve the set targets in the financial year 2021-2022.
He also advised that the proportional representation of beneficiaries of AdiDravidar, Tribal, Minority and Women in self-employment schemes should be implemented. He said Tamil Nadu must be made as a state in India with the most vibrant innovation. He suggested that the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises should develop special schemes to enhance exports and provide necessary assistance to the import industry.
He further advised that small, medium and micro enterprises should develop plans to engage in high technology sectors such as aerospace, robotics and precision instrument manufacturing. In order to create a uniform industrial growth throughout Tamil Nadu, it is necessary to create new industrial estates and create industrial growth in the areas lagging behind in industrial development. Chief Minister MK Stalin also advised that emphasis should be given to agro-based entrepreneurs.
The review meeting was attended by Rural Industries Minister TM Anbarasan, Chief Secretary V. Iraianbu, Additional Secretary to the Finance Ministry Krishnan, departmental dignitaries and government officials.
