Social activists in Pollachi urge state transport administration to implement Covid safety measures to coax public into using public transport
Coimbatore: Even as the Government eased restrictions amidst the pandemic lockdown and allowed bus services to resume between districts and urban areas in Tamil Nadu, public transport resumed in Pollachi and surrounding areas with 50 percent passengers.

But there were very few passengers on the buses owing to fear of contracting Covid-19 in public transport.

Central bus stations which were generally crowded still wear a deserted look, along with public transport seen devoid of passengers both in urban and rural areas. Social activists have demanded that the state transport administration take appropriate preventive measures by spraying disinfectants and raising awareness among the public to use public transport.
