Over 100 people protest in Coimbatore condemning caste discrimination against students at Chennai IIT
Coimbatore: A protest was held in front of the Coimbatore South Taluk Office on Monday evening condemning the discrimination at IIT Chennai. Adiyaman, the founder of the Aditamilar Peravai led the protest which was organized by the Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front.
Leaders including TPDK K Ramakrishnan participated in the protest. They alleged that continous discrimination of students was being done on the basis of caste at Chennai IIT. Slogans were raised calling for an immediate end to the racial segregation and continued harassment of college students on the basis of their caste. The protest was attended by over a 100 people from all parties.
