Police inspection on country explosives: 3 involved in making country bombs caught by police in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Three persons were caught making country explosives during a police raid in Sirumugai, near Coimbatore. They were arrested and imprisoned.
Police said, "Sirumugai Forest Department officials were on routine patrol near Thenkalkaruda this morningwhen they saw three people standing suspiciously in Selvan's farm. On investigation it was revealed that they had 17 country bombs with them for hunting wild boars."
Coimbatore District, Sirumugai Police registered a case in this regard and arrested Martin, Selvam alias Selvaraj, Siluvai Muthu and remanded them in custody. Making Avuttukkai, and using it to hunt wildlife is a crime under the law. Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Selvanagarathnam has warned that legal action will be taken against those involved in the crime.
