Tipplers exchange sweets as TASMAC stores reopen in 11 districts including Tirupur


Tirupur: As many as 253 TASMAC stores in Tirupur district remained closed since the lockdown due to the spread of Covid-19.

The Government of Tamil Nadu has now granted permission to operate TASMAC stores in 11 districts, including Tirupur, from 10 am to 8 pm as of Monday. All TASMAC stores in Tirupur district which were closed since last May have been allowed to operate again in Tirupur after 54 days.

As a precautionary measure against any incidence of the diesease spreading again, barricades were erected in front of the TASMAC stores and circles were drawn to help consumers adhere to social distancing. It was also announced through a loudspeaker that liquor would be sold only to those wearing face masks. Tipplers exchanged sweets with each other delighted at the reopening of the TASMAC store in M S Nagar, Tirupur.
