Samuel Stephen, a doctor from Salem, had bought an air pistol from the state of Uttar Pradesh online a few days ago. The purchased air pistol was repaired by Dr. Samuel Stephen and returned by courier to the company concerned. The courier company took the parcel to the airport to be sent by air without informing airport officials of any details. Airport officials who checked the parcels were shocked to find a gun and called the courier company concerned to investigate.
Dr. Samuel Stephen was also interrogated. Airport Chief Security Officer Murugan Peelamedu lodged a complaint with the police against Dr. Samuel Stephen for attempting to send the gun by courier without giving proper information. Police have registered a case against Dr. Samuel Stephen and are investigating the complaint.
