BJP files petition to Commissioner of Police and District Collector condemning police for removing PM Modi's banner in vaccination camps in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: More than 100 lawyers, led by BJP district president Nandakumar, filed a petition with Coimbatore District Collector Sameeran and Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Deepak Damor.
Nandakumar later told reporters: 'Prime Minister Modi has ordered free vaccination for all over the age of 18 across India. Vaccines are systematically distributed to all districts without any discrimination. Police are removing placards of PM Narendra Modi kept on behalf of the BJP at vaccination sites in Coimbatore. But they did not remove the DMK banners and are acting partisan. The state government should immediately intervene and bring the same law to all. All parties must be banned from placing their banners where vaccinations take place. We have petitioned the District Collector and the City Police Commissioner to take action against those who removed our banners. If no action is taken, we will protest.' More than a hundred BJP lawyers were present.
