New bridges are built like stairs: Motorists requests to repair before a major accident occurs
Coimbatore: In Valparai, Coimbatore district, vehicles are facing difficulties due to heavy rains during the rainy season.
From time to time accidents occur due to poor visibility. Six bridges have been built on the way from the Rottikadai near Valparai to the Sholayar Dam.

This included digging the road with a JCB machine across the road to set up a large pipe to carry the water from one side of the road to the other. It has been several days since the work was completed and 6 bridges look like stairs.

There is a risk of an accident as there is no warning sign kept for visitors at night to know that the road has been repaired.
Parthiban, a contractor on behalf of the Highways Department, is carrying out the work. Also during heavy rains in the Valparai area, vehicles come through the road as it is built like a stairway in all 6 bridges.

Motorists have demanded the highway department to complete the work on these bridges and install speed bumps and warning signs with lights for people before any major accident occurs.
