4 youth arrested for selling ganja in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Drug trafficking continues to target students in Coimbatore district and especially in the urban areas.
The District Police and the City Police are working together to eradicate drug trafficking. As part of this, police are conducting intensive vehicle searches day and night and arresting drug traffickers.
Yesterday, during a vehicle search led by the Kovilpalayam Police Inspector in the Keeranatham housing unit area next to Kovilpalayam, it was revealed that the youths were selling ganja on a motorcycle. During interrogation, they were identified as Manoj (21) of Chinnavedampatti, Anjugam nagar and Karthikeyan (25) of the same area.
Both were arrested and upon investigation they were found to have two kilos of ganja in their possession. Following this, they were brought to the police station and interrogated and it was revealed that Jeevanandam (20) of Nallampalayam area and Sivaprakash (22) of Udayampalayam, Sabari Nagar also had 2 kg of ganja. The police seized the ganja, charged all four and remanded them in custody.
