Coimbatore: The district administration, the corporation and the health department are coordinating various preventive measures in Coimbatore on a wartime basis to prevent the third wave of coronavirus.

In particular, rapid action is being taken to vaccinate everyone. To this end, special camps have been set up daily in the Coimbatore metropolitan and rural areas and the health department has been paying for the stockpiled vaccines. At the same time, the public is being made aware of the vaccine.

In this situation, as none of the hill tribe people came forward to be vaccinated, the health officials planned to go to the respective tribal villages in person and vaccinate them. As work began today, health workers and staff traveled with 500 vaccines to the hill villages of Mullangadu, Kalkothipathi, Sarkar Poorathipathi, Vellaipathi and Singapathi, next to Thondamuthur in Coimbatore.

The tribal people, who had no awareness of the vaccine, fled as soon as they saw the health officials. Some went to the plantation areas and hid while others tried to escape by climbing trees.

Meanwhile, the elderly men got into an argument with the authorities.

In a village of about 600 voters, only 57 people and in a village of 90 people, only 7 people were vaccinated. Following this, the doctors and nurses called on the villagers to go to their homes and get vaccinated.

Then, to the long-awaited officials, the villagers left saying that we would also be vaccinated if there was no harm to those who are currently vaccinated.

The vaccines were then sent back to the warehouse. Officials said they would be instructed to set up series of camps and vaccinate to raise awareness.
