Coimbatore: Six passengers on an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah to Coimbatore which arrived at Coimbatore Peelamedu Airport at 4.30 am on Friday were detained by Customs officials officers and inspected.
Coimbatore: Six passengers on an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah to Coimbatore which arrived at Coimbatore Peelamedu Airport at 4.30 am on Friday were detained by Customs officials officers and inspected.
It was discovered that they had smuggled gold in the form of paste. All six involved in the smuggling were arrested and handed over to customs officials.
Authorities seized 7 kgs and 908 grams of gold from the six men who have been identified as Arumugam, Haji Abdul, Hameed, Madhavan, Sulaiman, Rajendran and Deni Ibrahim Shah.
