Coimbatore: Wildlife such as elephant, tiger, leopard, bear and gaurs are found in the estates around Valparai in Coimbatore district. Elephants and leopards occasionally roam in public residential areas causing trouble for people.

Satish, who lives in the Waverly Estate area near Valparai last night, has been working in a shop in Valparai. After work he went home in a two-wheeler at about 7 p.m. A bear from a tea estate near the forest jumped on his vehicle and attacked Satish.



The Bear then went back into the forest. Satish went to the Estate Hospital for first aid and was admitted to the Valparai Government Hospital for treatment
