Petition to the Chief Minister demanding full implementation of the Pedestrian Vendors Act
Coimbatore: There are a number of street vendors on the main road in Valparai, Coimbatore district.
They have requested that the petition be forwarded to the Chief Minister through the municipality. According to the petition, the shops of street vendors have been closed due to the Coronavirus infection. They are suffering from loss of livelihood and now as the infection is reduced, the shops are being opened.
They submitted a petition to Municipal Health Inspector Selvaraj containing 9 requests including requesting to allow shops in places where they did business before, everyone should be given an identity card and the committee should hold an election, arrange bank loan for everyone and fixing the fee as per the rules of law.
